Classical Music Coming to a Close
The eight weeks of the Aspen Music Festival have flown by, and this weekend's concerts are the final programs of the season. Tonight the highly-regarded British pianist Stephen Hough performs Liszt's Piano Concerto #1 with the Aspen Chamber Symphony. He returns Saturday night to perform a piano recital in Harris Hall. The Aspen Festival Orchestra brings the season to a close on Sunday at 4pm, with a performance of Mahler's monumental Symphony No.8, often called the Symphony of a Thousand. It will be a fitting close to a great season of music.
